I agree what we need cheaper PC's, but what Apple wants to charge for their hardware / software is their own decision to make. If they only want to sell software that runs on their platform, that should be their decision. As I stated before, Microsoft doesn't make Visual Studio for Mac, 90% of PC games don't run on a mac. It is the same argument. How are they monopolizing anything? They make up less than 15% of the computer market share (US). The only reason why people are bitching about this now is because Vista Sucks So Much that they are actually looking to alternatives.

The bottom line is this, the OS coming installed on these "Open Computers" is illegal, and that will not stand up in any court. According to the law now, regardless of what happens with the EULA status, they are taking orders and supposedly shipping PC's with illegal software.

On the cheaper PC front however, I hear the Eee PC 900 is going to be pretty cool (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Um....that pic above is wrong, just saying. That's an Antec P180 case that goes for $140 @ least...if that's what they are using I fail to see how they are pulling a profit.

Besides that, this whole matter is full of crap.

I understand not everyone wants to dish out the cash for a Mac to be able to use OS X, but that is how Apple makes Money. Apple is more of a hardware company than a software company as it pertains to sales. So, why don't I think that this case will stand up in any court? A few reasons.

The analogy that the Pystar owner is supposedly using presents logic that not only says you should be able to install OS X on a PC, but you should be able to play Xbox 360 games on a PS3 as well. We can supposedly sue Microsoft for the fact that Visual Studio doesn't run on a Mac as well....BS. We all know that's not happening any time soon. Disregarding all of that, you can't just look past the fact that Leopard is $130 commercial software, and has been hacked in order to run on these "open computers". Screw the EULA argument, Apple won't even need it

Are you referring to the menu bar on the top, or the Dock @ the bottom of the screen?

For info on the menu bar, see HERE
For info on the dock, see HERE

It's worth mentioning that the software used for the menubar is commercial (Object Bar)

LOL...dude...anyone can test the new FF beta (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I submitted this to them for feedback when I used the beta 3 release. Doesn't much matter whether they fixed it or not...as I have found a workaround / fix.

For any of you interested in not having that behemoth list of results when you start typing....
1)navigate to "about:config"
2)find browser.urlbar.maxRichResults
3)Change the max value to the max number of results you would like to show up when you type in the address bar

Is there a way yet to disable that ANNOYING drop down when you start typing URLs? I find it completely unnecessary. I haven't tried anything since Beta 3...currently using the last official version of 2.0

Hi there. I have a question for you. How do you get the apple style selection bar like you have? I mean like on your picture with the shutdown options, and the buttons for shutdown, and cancel. Its that nice rounded button style. How do I get it?

By December this year we should be seeing some good development.....or delays (which I would be surprised to not see)

Hmmm....looks like OS X 10.5.3 will be out within the next month (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/whistlingb.gif)

When I was younger, I wasn't allowed to play these kinds of games. As I got older...I began to see them as stupid. I have played GTA before, and found that it only gave me assurance in my assumptions of the game. I don't really like GTA that much...

Ahhh! Yes, another area of expertise for me (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

As of last weekend, I no longer own a PSP....traded it in (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

My PSP was an original model that had been hacked since the 3.03 firmware exploit found in GTA:LCS. Before I sold it, it was up to 3.90 M33 Custom firmware by Dark_Alex.

As you might or might not be aware of, the PSP Slim does have more RAM and a more powerful processor than the Original model (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I will post very soon on how to get Mac OS 7 running on the PSP. It is quite neat, no emulator required (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

First, some good sites

I like the idea for weekly game reviews. The topics would start with something like "[Review] Game Title"...maybe I'm just picky, but it could get really unorganized after a while.....

Continuing on the topic of weekly game reviews, I think every review should contain a poll. The poll can be used for user based rating with a topic such as "rate this game", and options of 1-10 for anyone who has played the game to vote on.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gamer news also sounds cool...specifically, how about news on upcoming games on all of the major platforms / consoles, and news on the latest gaming hardware (graphics cards, mice, keyboards, etc)
I will be trying to get some dedicated gamer section members soon (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hi Everyone,
First off, welcome to our new Games section. Joby, I hope this section turns out as well as I know you plan for it to. Believe it or not, me...Windows Edge's local Mac expert was once a BIG gamer. I thought I would bring up a site that got me into MANY free beta testings for games that are now commercially available in pretty much any store that sells PC games. Some games that I have tested include Bots!, D&D Online, Gunz Online, Heroes of Might & Magic V, Knight Online, RF Online, Silkroad, and WarRock. You might recognize some of them (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So, what's this site you might ask.

Here is a list of some of the current games being listed under Open Beta:

Enjoy (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

LMAO...last I checked, DIGG5 will get you 10% off of Go Daddy Hosting (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
If bundling is allowed, TEKZILLA will get you an additional 10% (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

This info is quite available to the public....if you watch a podcast or two every now and then (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yeah yeah..okay...the MBA got PWNed...

What does the hacker who accomplished this feat have to say about it?

"I like Macs," he said. "I use Macs for everything."
"Macaulay said he uses both, but on the whole he finds Macs "a little" more secure."

"As for what he'll do with the $10,000 cash prize, Dai Zovi said he's thinking of buying a MacPro."

According to Laurie Fincham, Chief Scientist at THX, "By the time Blu-ray really finds a mass market, we will have 128GB cards. I would guess that getting studios to supply movies on media cards, or offer downloads, will be a lot easier than getting them to sign up to support a disc format."

The site seems to work very well for uploading content, viewing it however is another story. I created an account and uploaded some of my work, yet I cannot see anything while not signed in(yes, the content has been made public)...my profile appears completely blank.

Very nice idea, but it won't be replacing CS3 anytime soon...I give it a 5/10 so far

I'm thinking about buying one of the new touch screen Eee's when they come out. I want to mod one into a solid form factor case, or to where keyboard will slide out. I eventually want to mount one of these things in the kitchen (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I plan to install XP on it and make my own launcher app to launch news, rss feeds, streaming tv / movies, etc

I recommend this case. It provides protection from scratches on the back of the iPhone, and will prevent the iPhone from slipping / falling
