Windows 7 installation will fail if your video card drivers fail during the installation since it does WinSAT early on during the installation. No 64bit drivers and i find it lacking sound drivers too (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Windows 7 isn't being given to beta testers since no beta has started its only given to select partners such as large developers of software and hardware, Intel as an example. If you search you may find it but thats the most i'll give here. Don't bother asking for it. |

I've owned a SNES, Game Boy Color, N64, PS1, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, and a Xbox. All had good games i enjoyed the Game Boy Advance and GameCube the most, Mario FTW! I plan on getting a Xbox 360 (any model) soon. |

Well now we know its possible. But it can't run that well considering the specs on those PC's, Windows XP would be more suited for it. |

Some system images such as a new aurora and some images from the screensaver have appeared. These images are early and do not represent what will be seen in the final build. (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_images/vista/download.png) Download: Win7 images |

I was wondering when someone would put the very first Milestone of Windows 7 under the microscope and say it sucks. I don't get why people expect the first developmental build to be completely different, Windows Longhorn M1 was no different it looked exactly like Windows XP and Windows Whistler Beta 1 looked exactly like Windows 2000. I think its unprofessional for someone to call Windows 7 disappointing at this stage (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) |

Intel and MS have always been doing things jointly (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) If it wasn't for Intel, Vista might of been a bigger success (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) |

During the whole "Vista Capable" Fiasco Microsoft decided to release previously labeled Confidential Emails between top Microsoft Execs including Steve Ballmer, Jim Allchin and many other people who were heavily involved on the development of Windows Vista. These Emails discuss known Hardware incompatibility going back all the way to Pre-Beta 2 builds. A heavily discussed topic was the involvement of WDDM Drivers regarding the Intel 915 Chipset which at the time was a popular Chipset. QUOTE In the end, we lowered the requirement to help Intel make their quarterly earnings so they could continue to sell motherboards with the 915 graphics embedded. This in turn did two things: 1. Decreased focus of OEMs planning and shipping higher end graphics for Vista-ready programs and 2. Reduced the focus by IHV's to ready great WHQL [Windows Hardware Quality Labs] qualified graphics drivers. We can see this today with Intel's inability to ship a compelling full featured 945 graphics driver for Windows Vista. SeattlePI |

I'm in Leopard right now, everything works great its fast and has better font rendering than most OS's. i think Mac OS X's only fault is that most of the software is made for Windows and OS X only works on Macs (officially) (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

It started off as Blackcomb then changed to Vienna then they wanted something simple so it changed to Windows "7" as in the 7th version of Windows. Release dates are something that are very edgy and anything that involves release dates for Windows are likely to be changed. I expect we will see something during the late 2008 early 2009 era with a alpha release possibly (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
