QUOTE (Buster @ Jan 11 2009, 07:17 AM) *
I have windows 7 64 bit running with 8 gig of ram and at the moment having used it for a full day I have just rebooted into vista 64bit on my second hard drive and this feels faster
goggle crome does not work
Gaia desktop wallpaper does not work
diskkeeper 2007 pro does not work but Diskeeper pro premier 2009 does work using 30 day trial version
installed office 2007 ultimate windows update has stopped working and update help would not go on line
other than that I am quite happy with the feel of ot so far
but still would not jump to it perminately yet but considering the first beta release would not even install on this machine in the begining and it was brand new then built with supposedly vista ready components as always drivers where missing.
to get windows seven up and fully functional first time I am impressed with this release only good thing can come this time hopefully the manufacturers get behind this version especaily the 64bit programs needed to realy make it worth while changing to I think will be waiting for a lot of them to bring out new programs or drivers before I consider it fully ready for use

But Well Done The Windows 7 Team looking forward to better things as the relase improves

I would take your advice since I am about to use Windows 7 when I burn the OS successfully onto a DVD... Thank you, (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) !

for me it was like millenium all over again this was the first 32bit released to early it had a crap name so they repackaged it and brought out xp
so now its vista not selling and has been repackaged and being brought out as windows 7 slightly faster and with enough visual difference to rename it and as usaul no drivers i dont think i will be buying this version my vista works well enough for me wait a couple of years and there should be a real new os the one that should have been windows 7

I know, I couldn't agree with you more... They predicted MSFT's failure around 2016... And this is some prediction that may come true! MSFT may become a company that only sells the XBox and Zune may become a 'XBox Handheld' and MSFt is a new type of Nintendo...

I for one do not like the icon less toolbars. I hope they alow customization on the toolbar with the option for icons only, icons + text and text only to make everyone happy.

Yeah, that is the thing that bugs me the most! I'd want that (what you said) before I get W7, (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ...

I am not using it and don't have it, but to my view... I think, they could have made it more like Vista and include a sidebar for better 'Gadget' organizing and more comfortable name other than 7...

I feel it is good as it is, at least your computer should have at least 3-4 GBs of memory to support the Ultimate and Server thing... Better?, try 6-8 GBs if you can... Of coure you'd need 64 Bit...

Still have it on my computer, but I recommend 3GBs of memory to use it... 2GB plus some other software on Vista, a quite occasional jam...

There is. Its called getting a new player.

Blu-ray uses a blue laser while DVD uses a red one. plus other technical things. simply put, you cant do what you said in your post.

I got that info... But, HD DVD is a good one but unfortunatly it died and I have to deal with buying a new player, (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ...

Well as I believe Apple won't do this because NVidia is for Windows, if Apple bought it... It wonldn't be nice to go with only ATI for Windows. And I'll ground Apple even more. This must be the wrong-way for Apple... Wrong way...
And PC buliders will go mad on this. Apple will not benefit on this even though it they even bought NVidia which will die... No-go, no-go! (IMG:http://windowsedge.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) !

Well, at the conference that Microsoft recently joined... There is a Windows 7 sneak peek aka demo that reveals touch sensitive capabilities... It makes a lot of people wonder is it Windows Surface or Windows 7? Bottom line is that it is Windows 7...
